There are raw food diets and then their are RAW FOOD diets… I’m only taking this as far as raw food diets, meaning, what comes to mind for me is eating fresh fruits, vegetables, and nuts. That, I would never think would be deemed radical eating, but considering how those foods are grown and harvested, and kept at the market for us with pesticides, herbicides, hormones, and other manufactured chemicals “added” to our “healthy” foods, “radical” now fits.

Well, they ARE found in everyday foods! But instead of me putting my personal twist and interpretation on this, you really should find out what the experts have to say.

Alex Ortner, producer of the film “Simply Raw” sat down with Mike Adams to discuss this topic and asked him a pretty some interesting questions.

Motivation and Action Key to Weight Loss

The people who live on their own terms share a secret.

Losing weight is a great example. It is not hard to figure out what to do, the problem is getting yourself to DO what needs to be done. In order to lose weight, you have to take ACTION.

Last Call For The FYM Transformation Kit

Cardio vs Weights

Holly Rigsby (who is in the middle of her FYM Transformation launch) wants to know…, which do you prefer… Cardio or Weights? Well, it turns out that the majority of women polled on popular online fitness websites choose… Cardio!

But why the preference for Cardio if the body shaping, toning and firming results are not achieved? There are 4 answers…

1. It is EASY
After all, how much effort and thought does it take to get on a treadmill for 30 – 60 minutes? You can even chat with friends, read a magazine or even watch TV.

2. Immediate Feedback
For “traditional” cardio machines, do you hop on the treadmill with the goal of burning “X” amount of calories? It is comforting to “see” you are making progress; however, this is misleading feedback.

Fat loss is about how many calories your body burns 24-7, not how many calories you burn per workout. Dieters get caught up in thinking the more calories burned, the better (or faster) results achieved.

But remember… a higher metabolism means more fat loss.

So Cardio is NOT the direction you want to go in.

Cardio does nothing to increase your metabolism for the next 24 hours – in fact your metabolism returns to normal shortly after you finish.

Plus, if your goal is to burn as many calories as possible, it is likely you are spending a tremendous amount of time “doing” cardio – once you are good at going past 30 minutes, you are in the DANGER zone when it comes to preserving your lean muscle.

You see, the longer you “do” cardio, the more your body dips into the protein in your muscle to give you the energy to keep going.

This is one of the reasons why many women increase the amount of time spent “doing” cardio – for with a slower metabolism, results stall, leading to thoughts of having to exercise more to keep get back to seeing results!

Can you see that this is a dead end road?

3. Fear of Weights
The top two comments in regards to weights….
“I don’t want to bulk up” and “It’s just too complicated”

Well, as many of you already know from following Holly and what she writes – women just cannot get big from lifting weights. It is a hormone thing that limits women to simply increasing strength, tone, and firmness when it comes to muscle gains.

As the Fit Yummy Mummy has said before: Strength training does not have to be complicated, boring or feel unproductive.

First of all, the women who are stating that they do not feel productive after a resistance training workout are really missing some key factors.

Fit Fat Loss Postings

The summer was challenging.

It was too hot to exercise in any proper way outdoors (except to swim… which I don’t), but cooler weather has returned, so some of my personal activity has resumed. I hope you didn’t suffer the same fate and were able to make it fit fat loss summer! If not, are you ready to resume too?

I hope my delay in revising the site didn’t interfere in your choices of a good, healthy weight loss program. Fit Fat Loss will be staying with the programs we have already selected, and if I can get my act together, some site improvements will be noticeable later.

We have had some more weight-conscious individuals join, although I have not made any emailings lately, so they are probably wondering why there’s been nothing in their mailboxes from us. I’ll try to make it up to them with some helpful information soon.

As your motivator, I hate to admit it, but I actually gained back some weight over the summer because of my resulting inactivity when I failed to reduce my caloric intake. So, yes, it can happen. As we all know too well, it is so much easier to gain weight than it is to lose it!

Only my closer friends knew it, but I tore a muscle right at the point people experience “tennis elbow” and I kept reinjuring it after it would get a bit better. That too, totally restricted many, many activities. I still can’t stress it after 8 weeks.

Stationary bicycling and walking make up 50% of my activity right now… nothing much to involve the upper body with a lot of arm movement. Although, maybe I am missing the opportunity to build up the left side of my body(?) – that just came to mind…!

Anyway… yes, I realize the Fit Fat Loss postings have not been here and we certainly appreciate your continued visits despite a slow down of healthy weight loss tips.
