Lessons Learned From The Great Health Debate
Yet, weight loss is one way to improve our health, isn’t it? So, I want to wrap up this subject and return to the purpose of Fit Fat Loss, to Stay Fit While Losing That Fat!
But before that happens, let me highlight some common views by the speakers of Kevin Gianni’s Renegade Health week-long event.
As happens in a debate, many views are presented, yet it was rewarding to discover the common threads that exist among health experts – my opinion appears within parentheses:
#1 – Eat plants first. (valid point)
It’s amazing how many people don’t eat enough plant food in their diet. But the experts agreed that we need to have plants as the basis of our diet. Think like a vegetarian, even if you do not want to be one, and you’ll be rewarded with good health.
#2 – Eat less meat. (personally… no)
There are a lot of arguments that people use to justify their diet, regardless of what it is. However, the reality is if you’re Asian, Japanese, from Central or South America, come from the Mediterranean area, are Indian or African, then your genetics are engineered towards eating a lot of plants. This doesn’t mean to not eat meat, just that your focus should be a plant-based diet first, meat second. The longevity side is that every long-lived health expert Kevin has ever interviewed eats more plants and less meat. Every single one.
#3 – When you want to cleanse, you fast. (ok)
Fasting is a valuable detoxification tool, regardless of fasting by a raw food diet, juice, or water.
#4 – Avoid excess salt. (absolutely)
Some experts believe salt is something you should never take. Others feel it’s OK in moderation. Others take it all the time.
However, according to Kevin Gianni, the overwhelming evidence of salt intake on health is negative with Dr. Fuhrman, Dr. Goldhamer, Dr. Williams, Charlotte Gerson sharing that opinion.
Tip: do not use it at home, but when you’re out and about, or at dinner with friends, relax your rules on salt.
#5 – Eliminate processed foods – even the so-called healthy ones. (absolutely)
Processed sugar, additives, and preservatives are in those boxed foods!
#6 – Know your food sources. (it helps)
Whatever you eat, make it a point to get most of it at the farmer’s market or somewhere close to your home. Of course you need to know that they are provide the good food…! Where I live farmers even supply some of the produce at the large chain supermarkets. Buying food locally supports the move to bring food growers back into the community, with the hope of changing our inadequate mass-supplied food system as we know it now and end the senseless factory farming. Plus, you’ll end up paying less than the health-food store can provide for you.
#7 – You must exercise or you can forget about true health. (point well taken)
If you’re not moving, you’re dying. Exercise is even one of your most potent detoxification systems! Sweat it out! Instead of cleanses and pills to detoxify, use exercise to detoxify – it’s free. Mark Sisson is a great example of this – at 57 he looks great and exercises 5-6 times a week. And we all know that this is the way to burn calories and stay fit.
I think the lessons learned from the Great Health Debate are comforting, and surprisingly… the only issue I have with the 7 points is the meat. For years, when I was in my twenties, I was severly hypoglycemic (low blood sugar). A high protein diet and the elimination of sugar (and alcohol) was essential – it was also during that time where my attention turned towards eating and living healthy… and when I had no weight problems. I have never detoxified but I know people who have, and it has helped them.
So if you totally missed the Great Health Debate, or want an everlasting reference of it, Renegade Health has the entire Great Health Debate call package – all 14 hours of audio with a pdf too – on sale for a couple of days.
Even though the debate is over, they are leaving up the Event Only special pricing of $49.95 until Friday February 18th. So this means if you want to get all the calls to listen to at your leisure so you can learn and experience this incredible event, AND you want a discount, then you must do so by Friday night at 11:59 PM PST.
Oh, it will still be available after that… but at a higher price.
An event like Kevin Gianni’s Renegade Heath Great Health Debate would never happen live, because no one would agree to speak. Kevin found that some wouldn’t agree to do so over the phone! But those who did, really contributed to the quality of the event.
So getting the calls and transcripts of this event is a great deal. Renegade Health has a money back guarantee, so if you feel the recordings are not valuable and don’t contain information you can use to improve your health, they will give you a complete refund.
